Description

I processed this image with the goal of revealing other galaxies besides the two main targets in an effort to determine their distances from Earth.

I used Pixinsight's Annotation script to label the galaxies cataloged in the PGC catalog.  I then looked up each galaxy in the NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database and logged each one's Hubble Distance in Mpc's.  A simple formula to convert Mpc's to light years was used to notate their distance.  One particular galaxy, PGC42593 is apparently 735 million light years away!  I don't think this is the farthest object I've ever (accidentally) imaged, but it is the farthest I've notated so far.

PGC 1960000 - PGC 1989999 appear to not be present in the NED, and I did not attempt to calculate their distances.

I'm still learning a lot about the Hubble Constant and red shift in relation to distance.

Clear minds and clear skies!
